Discover Alpine Bliss - Belleayre Mountain's Premier Winter Wonderland

The Belleayre mountain sign that greets visitors on Route 28, two walking minutes away from Alpine Four Season Lodge.

The Belleyare resort is easily accessible from New York City, making it a convenient destination for a day trip or a weekend getaway for those seeking outdoor winter activities. We have been enjoying the scenic ride about 2.5 hours from NYC to Belleayre Mountain. We gathered a small list of things to do over the weekend

Skiing and Snowboarding

There is scenic skiing and snowboarding terrain with 50 trails for all skill levels. Belleayre is equipped with modern lifts, including quad chairs, triple chairs, and surface lifts, ensuring efficient transportation across the slopes.

Ski Gear Rentals

Ski/snowboard lessons and equipment rentals can be attained at the Belleayre Ski Shop or directly at the Belleayre Ski Station

Lessons and Programs: Belleayre Mountain provides ski and snowboard lessons for individuals of all ages and abilities. These lessons are conducted by certified instructors and can be personalized to cater to specific skill levels, making it an excellent place for beginners to learn.

Scenic Gondola Rides and a Scenic Drive

Belleayre Ski Resort offers scenic gondola rides, providing breathtaking views of the surrounding Catskill Mountains. It's a great option for non-skiers or those seeking a more relaxed experience. Enjoy heartwarming food options and hot cocoa at the Discovery Lodge at the Belleayre ski base station. Continue to drive up the mountain on a beautiful serpentine road to reach the Overlook Lodge.

Lodging

Belleayre Mountain itself doesn't have on-site lodging, but there are several lodging options available in the surrounding area that cater to visitors looking to stay near the ski resort. We love Alpine Four Season Lodge. The lodge is nature-inspired and has several lodging apartments and suits that invite you to soak in the serene surroundings.

Dining

Some local pubs and bars in the area offer casual dining options, along with a selection of beverages. These places can be great for unwinding after a day of skiing or snowboarding.

We love Peekamoose restaurant, run by the Mills family. It’s within 10 minutes from the ski resort and offers a lovely dining experience in a somewhat rustic “found objects” setting. There is much wood and the taxidermia feels like it watches you during your visit. For a finer dining experience with stellar food, we love the Clubhouse at the Shandaken Inn. A talented chef recently joined, and the food has been delicious at each visit. We love the bar that offers a cozy fireplace.
