Belleayre Mountain: Mountain Trails Await Your Adventure

Belleayre mountain in the Catskills of New York offers a variety of trails for both winter and summer outdoor activities. Here's an overview of some of the trails you can explore at Belleayre:


Winter Trails

Alpine Ski Trails: Belleayre is known for its alpine skiing and snowboarding trails. There are various trails of varying difficulty levels, including beginner, intermediate, and expert slopes. Some popular alpine trails include Deer Run, Roaring Brook, and Wanatuska. Belleayre mountain has terrain parks for snowboarders and freestyle skiers to perform tricks and jumps. Features in these parks include rails, boxes, and jumps for various skill levels. It’s super cool and maintained well if you’re up for it. 

Cross-Country Skiing Trails: Belleayre offers cross-country skiing trails within the Pine Hill State Forest. These trails are less steep than the alpine trails and provide a more tranquil, scenic experience. You’re seriously able to forrest bath and soak in the beauty of the surrounding area. 

Snowshoeing Trails: Snowshoeing trails are available for those who want to explore the winter wonderland at a slower pace. These trails often run parallel to the cross-country skiing trails.

Summer and Fall Trails:


Hiking Trails: In the non-snow months, Belleayre offers hiking trails for all levels of hikers. Some popular hiking trails include the Belleayre Mountain Trail, Giant Ledge and Panther Mountain Trail, and more. These trails provide truly breathtaking views of the Catskill hills and the surrounding landscape.

Mountain Biking Trails: During the summer, Belleayre transforms some of its ski trails into mountain biking trails. You can enjoy downhill and cross-country biking on the slopes with various degrees of ruggedness. 


Nature Trails: For those interested in leisurely walks, there are numerous nature trails around the area, providing opportunities for birdwatching and observing the rich, local flora and fauna. We met red cardinals, blue jays, and hummingbird. We found it to be a true highlight of our walks through the forrest. 

 

Chairlift Rides: The Belleayre chairlift operates during the summer and fall seasons, offering a relaxing way to enjoy the stunning views of the Catskills and fall foliage. You could call it the lazy way of hiking but is a terrific alternative when hiking with kids or older folks.
